4 Reasons Why You Should Be Using a Sell Sheet Web Application

The world is full of mobile apps and software options, each choice vying for your attention. When you start looking at linesheet makers, you’ll find a few different alternatives. Most take the shape of a mobile app, piece of independent software or web-based app, but how’s a time-strapped entrepreneur supposed to decide?

The truth is, each format has its own pros and cons, but in the end, web-based linesheet apps offer the most functionality with the fewest drawbacks. If you’ve been searching for an easy way to take your linesheet creation on-the-go but still want to work at your desk when the opportunity calls for it, you’ve come to the right place.

4 Reasons You Need a Sell Sheet Web Application

Still not totally convinced? Check out these four reasons why using a web-based app for your linesheets is essential:

1. You’ll Get Widespread Access on Multiple Platforms

Mobile apps are fun and convenient but cross your fingers (and toes) if you ever decide to switch to a device with a new operating system. Mobile apps are designed with a targeted platform in mind and they must be downloaded and installed on a specific device. The app you love on iOS may not exist for Android and vice versa. So you’ll either be stuck with your old phone or have to say “bye-bye” to an app you spent time and money on customizing for your needs.

There’s also the issue of accessibility. It’s easy to give your phone a quick tappity-tap-tap and bring up your linesheet app, but what happens when you want to show your staff your latest creation or give your tired eyes a break from graham cracker-sized screens? You can’t always transfer work from a mobile app to your desktop computer, and that can be a major problem.

Web-based apps exist much in the same way as a regular website in that you view them using an internet browser and they’ll adapt to your device as necessary, so you can see what you’re doing regardless of if you’re on a Samsung phone or an iPad. Choose a web-based app and your linesheets are universally accessible. If you have access to a web browser and internet connection, you can look at sell sheet templates, work on your own sheets, send finished designs to clients and so on.

2. You’ll Spend Less Time Installing and Maintaining Apps

Because mobile apps and traditional software live on your personal device, you’re responsible for keeping them up to date. You also have to have room on your device to house the app and all its associated data; for most people that won’t be a problem, but if you have a lot of pictures, music files or other apps already taking up real estate, space may be at a premium.

Web-based apps are housed on a separate server and it’s up to the developer to push out updates. Sign in and the tweaks are already in place. Not only that, the upgrades are performed by a professional — a far cry from software updates that ask you to make decisions you might feel unprepared to make.

Developer-managed upgrades also translate into a better user experience. On any given day, you may sign in to find yourself pleasantly surprised by a handful of new linesheet templates or a video guide on how to create a product sell sheet. Web-based apps expand at the whim of their creators because they don’t need permission from you or access to your device to ratchet up functionality. As the ideas come, the app grows and you have more opportunities for growth, too.

3. You’ll Save (In More Ways Than One)

Did you know the following stats?

  • 27 percent of small businesses have no in-house IT support
  • 92 percent of small businesses use at least one cloud-based solution to manage operations
  • Small businesses that use cloud solutions find their workloads decrease by a minimum of 42 percent

As a solopreneur or entrepreneur, you might relate … a little too much. Those statistics make it clear that most startups and smaller enterprises don’t have the time or resources to deal with software snafus, which is why so many are turning to cloud-based or web-based options to streamline operations and makes linesheet creation much simpler.

If you’re trying to work with multiple desktop applications, you may experience lags because each piece of software has to request data from the others in order to complete a command. If you want to import a photo, that can take a moment or two. If you need help, you’ll either spend time waiting for customer support to walk you through a fix or you’re calling in costly outside tech assistance just so you can get back to work.

All that unnecessary nonsense drains your funds, your time and worst of all, it drains you. Why subject yourself and your team to all the drama when Linesheets is such an attractive alternative?

4. You’ll Have Increased Flexibility

Work wherever you want to work. Give up being tied to a desk editing and sending linesheets on the spot. Instead, you can make a quick edit in line at the grocery store, standing with a prospect in the middle of the convention floor or in an office trying to seal the deal. Start off with a done-for-you sell sheet template, then add your own touches until the final document reflects your branding and vision. You also have the option to put together multiple templates, separate collections using dividers and add a cover sheet to tie it all together.

There are so many options with the Linesheets web-based app — all you have to do is sign up and work with an open mind.

3 Faster Ways to Make Jewelry LineSheets

You’ve created a breathtaking line of jewelry — years of dreaming, fine-tuning and bringing your visions to life. And now you’re ready to show them off the world. There’s just one problem … no one’s looking.

If you want to get your brand up on the shelves (brick-and-mortar or virtual) of big-box retailers and prized boutiques, you need linesheets, and if you need linesheets, you need them quickly. Competition waits for no one.

To help you leap over the last roadblock on your way to entrepreneurial success, check out these three tips on how to create a jewelry linesheet quickly without sacrificing quality.

Learn: Why Do I Need a LineSheet?

1. Use a Template

Okay, this may be an obvious suggestion, but then again … maybe not. You’re already an entrepreneur and the mere fact that you’ve gotten this far with your jewelry business means you’re determined. You have ambition, drive and you’re used to getting stuff done. It follows that you’d be awfully tempted to teach yourself Photoshop and spend a week learning how to make a linesheet from scratch.

You’re a superstar. You can do this!

And you know what? You probably can. But while you’re learning to master the fine art of linesheet creation, other things are falling by the wayside. You’re not answering emails promptly because you’re fighting with photo alignment. You missed your kid’s dance recital because you needed to make two (okay, maybe nine … ) final edits to your product specs. One week has now stretched into two and you finally give in and just hire a freelancer. There goes another chunk of your budget.

Sound familiar? I’ve been there and didn’t like it one bit. But there is a solution: linesheet templates. While that may sound generic, and you’re definitely not generic, templates from Linesheets — a new, web-based app — are anything but run of the mill. With Linesheets, you can expect:

  • A bunch of beautiful layouts to choose from, so you can pick the configuration that fits your product or buyer
  • Customizable features so you can perfect every detail including adding a logo, tweaking the color scheme or adding branding
  • Easy uploads for product specs, photos with alerts on what to include based on your layout and needs

Using a template makes the work easy, while still offering customization to ensure your linesheets will never look like anyone else’s.

Plus, it’s a lot faster than creating a completely unique linesheet from the ground up.

Wasting all your time making manual linesheets? Learn more about Linesheets — the tool that makes your job easier so you can get back to your craft.

2. Make It Simple

More is not always better. In fact, most of the time more is just so. much. more. While it’s normal to want to fill your linesheet with every spec you can think of and capture your top-selling chandelier earrings from a hundred different angles, there’s a line that can be crossed. You want buyers to think your linesheets are informative, not an overwhelming (and frankly, boring) pile of data. That’s bad for business and doubly bad for you.

Buyers aren’t just looking at your linesheet. They’re considering tons of designers, weighing the pros and cons and hoping something phenomenal will catch their eye. They don’t have time to wade through 20 bullet points per product or shuffle through page after page of toe rings when they’re only interested in bangles.

Your best bet is to stop inundating your audience with details and narrow your focus to whatever specs, images and products truly matter. As you’re making your linesheet, ask yourself these questions:

  • What products does your buyer need?
  • What information do they require to making a decision/place an order?
  • Can you scan your linesheet and understand what’s being offered in a matter of seconds?
  • Could you eliminate specs and still convey the same message?

Avoiding the urge to fill your linesheet to the brim doesn’t just increase readability, it also shrinks your to-do list. The fewer elements you need to work on, the faster you’ll be able to sign off on your brand pkin’ new jewelry linesheet and send it to the all-important decision-makers.

3. Repurpose Existing Collateral

Anytime you can cut corners without cutting quality, do it. That’s not cheating — it’s strategic. In the world of linesheets, this means finding ways of making your previous efforts work for you again and again. Here are a few ways you can save time by repurposing your linesheets:

  • Upload product specs from your existing storefront on supported platforms such as Etsy, Wish, Shopify, Amazon and BigCart instead of inputting the information from the beginning.
  • No existing storefront? No problem — do a bulk upload using a CSV file and you’ll save oodles of time versus entering those products individually while in the Linesheets workspace.
  • Rather than creating every linesheet from a new template, tweak your saved designs to fit the needs of a new buyer or new collection request.
  • Piece together smaller layouts to create more comprehensive collections that may suit larger retailers or seasonal buys — you can still use dividers to separate filigree cuffs from layered styles or men’s watch bands from women’s.
  • Pay for professional photos once but ask for them in several formats so they’re suitable for websites, print collateral and digital applications.

When time is of the essence, it’s essential you prioritize speed so you can beat your competitors to the punch. Being first doesn’t always mean you’re the best, but being first and wielding an amazing linesheet may well be a sign of incredible things to come.

Why Your Current Approach to Creating LineSheets Is Broken

We’re a success story built on failure. Then again, Thomas Edison once said, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work,” so maybe it wasn’t a failure so much as an opportunity.

Linesheets, the new linesheet automation tool, was born out of necessity. Our founder, Alexis, was all ready to hoist her brand up to the next rung on the business ladder by taking her jewelry designs to the big boys like shopbop.com and Bloomingdales, but there was a learning curve. She was ready to describe her masterpieces in detail; buyers were ready for a linesheet. It was time for Alexis to figure out how to make a linesheet …

What followed was a short but epically exhausting foray into the world of graphic design. It drained her time, it pillaged her budget, and halfway through Alexis came to the stark conclusion that DIYing her way into major retailers wasn’t going to work.

Sick of making manual linesheets? Learn more about Linesheets — the tool that makes your job easier.

Why Your Approach to Linesheets Needs to Change

See, making a linesheet on your own takes way more than patience. You need design skills, a keen eye, the right software, the ability to ignore your other responsibilities and focus just on layout decisions and font choices for days or even weeks … and even if you manage to tick all those boxes, you may well forget a pivotal detail or understand far too late that your idea of a pristine sell sheet doesn’t quite match the expectations of your potential customer.

In other words, if you’re trying to do each linesheet by hand, on your own, without a design background or the right tools in hand, you’re doing it wrong. You’re wasting your resources, squandering your talents, and taking the long way around when you could be utilizing a shortcut that’s better for your bottom line and your mental health. How’s that for enticing?

Are your DIY linesheets less than beautiful? Learn more about Linesheets — the tool that makes your job easier.

A Catalog Is Not Enough

Catalogs are awesome, but they’re like giving buyers a movie trailer and asking them to invest in your next big-screen project — it’s all special effects and fancy voiceovers, but all the money guy wants to know is whether people are going to buy tickets.

Line sheets serve up details on-demand. Rather than overloading your prospects with items they don’t need and an avalanche of minutiae, that’s more confounding than compelling, you can make a new product sell sheet (or tweak an existing one) as a supplement.

So, don’t ditch your catalog, add to your sales funnel with a linesheet. Here’s why you need both:

  • Broad audience vs. focused appeal. Your catalog has a little something for everyone, but buyers aren’t always interested in wading through 30 pages of products to find the one item their customers will go gaga over. Send your catalog to window shoppers or anyone who wants to get a taste for the brand as a whole. Send linesheets for focused inquiries or to highlight best-sellers.
  • Wholesale vs. retail. Catalogs are great for the average Joe who wants to thumb through multiple sections and see a range of products spread across page after glossy page. Sell sheets you create using Linesheets, on the other hand, are optimized for wholesale use. Rather than including suggestions on what to wear with your new plaid trench or how a new pair of diamond studs will make your next date night a truly spectacular event, a proper linesheet lists minimum order quantities, SKU numbers, terms of sale and other business-related info.
  • Convenience. You can’t expect shoppers at a trade show to roll up your catalog and trot around from booth to booth with that behemoth under their arm, but you can hand over a clean, concise sell sheet that slips effortlessly into a folder or briefcase pocket. Tuck a few into your own bag when headed to a client meeting and you’re prepared to highlight key products in a flash — it’s much faster than thumbing through a catalog and dog-earing the appropriate pages.

See: 5 Benefits of a LineSheet Maker

Having your linesheet in PDF form is a major bonus, too. Why send off your own retail version of War and Peace when you can have your product or products in your customer’s inbox in mere seconds? One click and a buyer is scanning your document and thinking about the next step.

Cheaper to produce and print. Sure, catalogs offer a broad look at everything your brand has made and put into production, but that kind of heft is no joke. Need to make a change? Even fixing a typo means you better be ready to toss out hundreds of thousands of dollars in collateral. Have a client who wants a specific item in just one or two colors with other custom modifications? Line sheets are a quick, budget-friendly way to deliver a tailored product description, specs included.

You can either mark up your catalog (super professional, right?) or, if you have Linesheets, modify your sell sheet template or existing design to suit the request. No matter how good a deal you got on your catalog, printing off or emailing a single sheet is exponentially more affordable. Now go buy yourself something pretty with all that money you just saved. You deserve it!

Tweak to your heart’s content — no matter how often your inventory changes. It’s the perk so nice we’ll mention it twice. Your inventory is going to change. New patterns come in, old designs go out and suddenly parts of your catalog are obsolete. Line sheets act as a form of inventory management, allowing you to update specs as changes happen. You’ll always have a current sell sheet on hand to educate clients and you’ll never have to rely on a flawed file when accuracy matters most.

Are LineSheets Right for Your Industry?

Historically, linesheets are closely tied to the fashion industry. Even small collections contain a number of items and bigger collections require even more explanation. Sell sheets gave artists and owners a way to set each garment apart and communicate fundamental details to customers.

Since then, news about the functionality of linesheets has spread, and you’ll now see them used by everyone from jewelry designers to home-goods companies to office supply chains. Any wholesaler interested in selling a range of products with a varying specifications can benefit from a linesheet. In short, if you’re in the business of products, you probably need to get your linesheet game in order.

Could you theoretically use the same linesheet template regardless of industry? Sure, but you risk omitting details that may not matter in one niche but are fundamentally important in another.

As your needs will change slightly from industry, we’ve outlined a few niche-specific sell sheet examples to spur your imagination.

How to Make a LineSheet for Electronics

Ok, so you already know how to make a linesheet. But electronics are different. Here’s where things get interesting — and increasingly complex. Electronic devices don’t customarily come in multiple colors and it’s doubtful you’re carrying DVD players in five different sizes, but what you do have is a long list of product specs that every buyer will want to see.

How to Make an Electronics LineSheet

Making a linesheet for electronics isn’t all that different from a regular linesheet, but it does require more specific information. Forgetting certain specs is the last thing you want to do.

Making a LineSheet for a Computer

For a computer, you’ll need to include information about any or all of the following:

  • Operating system
  • Screen size and resolution
  • Overall unit dimensions
  • Processor model and speed
  • Memory
  • Graphics card
  • Hard drive
  • Storage type and total capacity
  • Number of expansion spots
  • Networking capabilities
  • Accessories included

Other features such as touch-screen capability and pre-loaded software could help sway a buyer and should be included when possible.

Are your DIY linesheets less than beautiful? Learn more about Linesheets — the tool that makes your job easier.

Making a LineSheet for a TV

For a TV, your list might look more like this:

  • Screen size
  • Overall dimensions
  • Display type
  • Resolution
  • Smart platform
  • HDR status
  • Refresh rate
  • Manufacturer-specific technology
  • Number and type of inputs
  • Accessories included

You may also need to address things like device compatibility, whether the television can be wall mounted, if it features a built-in voice assistant, if the screen is curved, and power stats, such as estimated annual operating cost and whether the unit is ENERGY STAR certified.

Now, imagine all those specs shoved into a single block of text. It’s a surefire way to discourage buyers and scuttle a sale before it even has a chance to take off. Lay out technical aspects in a clean, uniform manner and customers can quickly scan sheet after sheet, expanding your exposure and possible boosting your revenue.

  • Diversity. Want to create collections? You can do that with Linesheets. Selling items from multiple industries? Brand your sell sheets to reflect each niche. Have a client who loves purple? Well, you can cater to that too.
  • Customization Galore. The templates you’ll find on Linesheets.com are the best foundations a business owner can ask for, but if you feel the call of creativity it’s nice to know that you’re not locked into the provided design. Play with font color and size, twiddle with typeface, test out different background colors and rearrange your listings until the final effect feels right. This is your business, and your linesheets should reflect your artistic bent and branding in whatever ways you choose.
  • Directly Import Products. If you have a website and Linesheets, you have the ability to import your existing specs straight into our software. You can then browse through your newly created Linesheets catalog and pick and choose which products to add to each linesheet. It’s like magic, only you can replicate it time and time again and there’s no pixie dust to clean up afterwards.
  • Upload Data On Demand. Don’t have a website? Not a problem. Even brand-new startups and businesses just dipping their toes into the digital end of things can use Linesheets and create incredible documents thanks to our product uploader. Send photos from your smartphone to our software with a quick tap then fill in the relevant data as you see fit. Then, that automated magic will kick in, generate a business sell sheet that’s nothing short of pristine.
  • Click, send, sell. Simple, push-button functionality that allows you to share your finished product sell sheet instantaneously? Yes, please. Built-in email services allow you to send your linesheets directly to the people with the buying power. You can also print and share, which is ideal when you’re headed off to a trade show or client meeting.
  • Save Money. Hire a freelance assistant to outline all your products and you’ll probably spend $100 an hour. Hire a graphic designer to create your linesheets and you’ll at least double your hourly investment — and you’ll pay that much every time you need to make a change or swap out products when you debut a new collection. Linesheets, the professional sell sheet software, is just 24.99 per month. You do the math — the bottom line is pretty impressive.
  • Multiple Options for Access. Pick the Linesheets plan that best suits your needs. Opt for our main plan and pay just $29.99 per month or $309.88 annually (a $50 savings when paid up front). Just need a single linesheet download? Try our one-time download option for only $99.99.

New LineSheet App Makes It Easy to Sell to Retailers

Ready to experience the selling power of a linesheet template Photoshop can’t beat? Linesheets is changing how business owners connect with buyers, creating an exciting new approach to linesheet creation that uses product sell sheet templates to craft designs that look great and perform even better.

Get to know Linesheets, a new web-based app, to see how your brand can benefit from a linesheet maker that actually makes sense.

What Is a LineSheet?

In many ways, linesheets are the lifeblood of any artist, inventor, jewelry designer, furniture builder, tech importer or retailer who wants to get their product on store shelves — virtual or otherwise. Retailer shelves are premium real estate and the competition is nothing short of fierce. Buyers decide who gets a foot in the door by evaluating all the options and choosing the best fit, a process that relies heavily on each seller’s presentation of their product or product line. That presentation most often comes in the form of … you guessed it: a linesheet.

Much like a catalog, a linesheet serves as a mini-lookbook to showcase the look and most important specs of a given item or group of items. Unlike a catalog, linesheets are geared towards buyers rather than consumers. Switch out flowery language in favor of facts and sprinkle in key details like shipping information and the available range of colors and sizes to create a clear-cut rundown of everything the buyer wants to know. It’s your dating profile in business form, and you want buyers to swipe right.

Overspending on graphic designers? Learn more about Linesheets — the tool that makes your job easier (and more affordable).

The Importance of a LineSheet Template

Line sheets, also known as sell sheets, look simple but can be difficult to create. Utilizing white space effectively and finessing fonts seem like skills that are easy enough to learn in an afternoon, but there’s a reason why graphic design is a specialty — one that people pay dearly for, too.

When it comes to creating a linesheet, you have a few options:

  • Hire a professional to make your linesheet dreams a reality
  • Spend time learning the ins and outs of a design program and create linesheets on your own
  • Use the Linesheets web-based app

The first option is expensive. The second is time-consuming. And the third … well, call us biased but we’ve been where you are and we know what it takes to make linesheets that work. Every bit of knowledge we gleaned during our own entrepreneurial struggle (yeah, we tried options one and two ourselves many times and it didn’t turn out so well … ) we poured into Linesheets. We’ve been where you are, and when we went looking for something better, it didn’t exist. So we created it.

  • Separate your products into categories or collections
  • Use dividers and cover pages to give your linesheet pizazz
  • Edit product information on the fly without starting from scratch
  • Download the finished linesheet as a PDF or email it to buyers straight from the app using your contact list and the email address you signed up with

With all the functionality you could want — plus a few features you didn’t even know you needed — all wrapped up in a pretty package, Linesheets is the user-friendly app you didn’t know you needed.

Launching a business isn’t a walk in the park — we know a thing or two about that. The thing is, sometimes the journey is only as hard as you make it. You can choose the path of most resistance or you can take shortcuts along the way. Instead of making things harder on yourself, take advantage of the lessons we learned the hard way and use an app concocted by sellers, for sellers, with ease of use and results in mind.

4 Tricks for Using a LineSheet Template

OK, so you gave in and started using linesheet templates — life just got a whole lot easier. But there’s still some work to be done. Even templates require finessing to get them exactly where you want them to be. And when your business is on the line, speed is of the essence, but that doesn’t mean quality ceases to matter.

Turn your sell sheet templates into masterpieces with these four tricks to turn your blank linesheet template into orders galore.

Read: Why Do I Need LineSheets?

1. Pick Your Layout Strategically

Choosing a linesheet template over a total DIY design is already saving you about 75 percent of the time you would’ve spent toying with image positioning and trying to figure out how to use Photoshop. Use some of that time saved to look over your layout options and pick the one that is best suited for the task at hand. Keep these layout tips in mind:

  • If you want to focus on a single product such as a top seller or a new creation, try a 1×1 product layout that allows for an expanded product description and the inclusion of extra specs.
  • For a high-impact presentation that packs a ton of products onto one page, try a 5×3 product layout and share your entire collection at once.
  • To break a huge portfolio into more easily digestible pieces, put together multiple layouts and separate pages using dividers, then bring it all together with an eye-catching cover page.

From petite templates to sprawling layouts and almost every configuration in between, Linesheets offers customization and control at your fingertips.

Are your linesheet templates a little ‘blah’? Learn more about Linesheets — the tool that brings your sell sheets to life.

2. Import Existing Product Specs From Other Platforms

If you already have your e-commerce store up and running, you likely have your products stored on another platform. That means you’ve gone to the trouble of seeing to details like product descriptions, bulleted specs, images and so on to help make your catalog appealing to consumers. You need to include those same details on your Linesheets template, so let your existing work do double duty.

Go to your Linesheets workspace and you can select the platform currently hosting your online storefront, log in and select the products you want to copy into the app. All that’s left then is to set the wholesale price (what you charge buyers rather than the price you put up for direct-to-consumer sales) and click “Import.”

Linesheets currently imports products from the following major platforms:

  • Shopify
  • Big Commerce
  • Amazon
  • Etsy
  • Walmart
  • Wish
  • Woocommerce
  • Volusion
  • Squarespace
  • eBay
  • Wix
  • Weebly
  • Magento
  • Ecwid
  • Alibaba
  • Bolt
  • 3DKart
  • Bigcartel

Even if you don’t have an e-commerce store from which to import your product specs, you can still make your life easier by bulk uploading products via a spreadsheet. You’ll just go to your Linesheets workspace, click on “Products,” download the CSV template, add your data and upload the finished file. You’ll save yourself time avoiding the tedious task of entering products into the workspace one by one — especially since you’ve already done the work somewhere else.

3. Incorporate Branding

Sure, your linesheet is there to highlight your best and brightest products, but your products and brand go hand in hand. Having a sell sheet design prepped and ready for customization is half the battle, but even the most beautifully crafted PDFs look generic without unique flourishes.

Branding can be as simple as incorporating your logo or subtly using company colors to accent your text and images. Choose a layout that’s in line with the aesthetics of your website and other marketing collateral; cohesion across multiple platforms fosters a sense of continuity and solidifies your brand.

What do you think of when you see a pair of golden arches? Are there a pair of colors that instantly make you want to root for your favorite sports team? That’s the kind of recognition you’re looking for, and a few quick clicks can bring your linesheet template into more familiar territory.

4. Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose

We get it — sometimes you have to start from scratch. When a specialty client needs an individualized linesheet tailored to their current needs or a particular store is in need of a rush order, it’s okay to pull up a new linesheet template and whip up a custom PDF. But in most cases, you can make what’s “old” look new again. And did we mention it’s a lot easier?

If you’ve already perfected a linesheet for Retail Giant A that focuses on your new range of nature-inspired pendants and you get a call from Retail Giant B interested in the same collection, don’t start over — start with your prepped sheet, make changes as needed, then save and send.

Life is too short to take on unnecessary work, so design with intention and take the shortcuts that exist. We’ve made them just for you!

How to Use LineSheet Templates to Make More Sales

Pretty rarely means perfect. Beauty isn’t even always the first thing we look for in a product — practicality and function are high on the list, too — but when you’re trying to convince a buyer to place a big order, looks do play a crucial role.

You’ve already hemmed and hawed over your product, consulted with experts and decided you’re ready for market. It’s only fair that you compose your presentation with the same what informationcare and attention to detail.

The answer? It’s called Linesheets, and it’s changing the face of wholesale selling for the better, one emailable PDF at a time.

Why Beautiful LineSheets Make the Difference

Flowers. The Mona Lisa. A clear blue sky. A baby with a huge, toothless smile. Why are we attracted to pretty things? Researchers have dug into that question more and more over the last few years, with one study finding that our brains actually reward us for looking at pretty things. When we gaze upon an A-list movie star or model who we find attractive, our brain starts firing neurons in ways we’re only beginning to comprehend.

Of course, all that is still conjecture backed by the findings of a few scientists, but the concept makes so much sense. It also closely ties back to the subject at hand: linesheets. Buyers are drawn to good-looking linesheets because, in addition to making their brains buzz, those sell sheets indicate that something amazing is in store. A messy presentation is a major turnoff, but learning how to make a linesheet that’s engaging, professional and appealing from first glance to last look is how you get big-fish retailers on the hook so you can reel them in.

LineSheet Templates Make Life (And Sales) Easier

At their core, linesheets are intended to display key information like product size, collection availability and payment details so buyers know what they’re getting into before committing to an order. But how you display that information is just as vital as the information itself.

Look at your linesheet and ask yourself:

  • Are you bombarding buyers with too much information at once or is there enough white space to let eyes rest?
  • Have you crammed unrelated products onto one page just because or is there a method to your madness?
  • Which specs are you including? Which specs are you leaving out?
  • Are those specs legible or running into each other to create an inedible word salad?
  • How do your fonts work together? Are you using one consistent font or are you waffling between six different options?
  • How are your colors, images and dividers?

There are endless ways to customize a linesheet. And when you’re starting from scratch, all those choices add up to one thing: the likelihood that you’re going to make a mess.

And it’s not your fault. You’re as determined and hardworking as they come. You’re an entrepreneurial powerhouse. You have skills galore, they just might not be Photoshop and graphic design  — or maybe you do have those skills but lack the time or desire to fiddle with the layout until things look just right.

That’s okay. In fact, that’s why we’re here, too.
